What is included in the Wash and what is included in the Clipping Service?
The Wash Service includes:
- Thorough brushing
- Heated fresh warm water for every Dog
- Eyes and ears gently cleaned
- Nails trimmed
- Chamois and Towel Dry or Blow Dry
- Choice of Shampoos - Regular, Flea, Tutti Frutti & Herbal
- Specialist treatment shampoos for all Dog skin conditions. (Approved by the government body, APVMA Australian Pets & Vets Medicinal Association)
- Deodorising Cologne
- Doggy Treat at the end of every wash
The Clipping Service includes:
- A Wash as per above
- A range of clipping and grooming services from a simple tidy up through to dematting and summer "haircuts" and styled grooms.
What shampoos and colognes do you use?
HydroDog has developed a comprehensive and exclusive range of special shampoos and cologne.
Our shampoos are premium quality and most include an antibacterial to protect your Dog. The shampoos are not absorbed into their coat and are completely bio degradable.
To ensure we meet the highest levels of quality, our range of specialist flea treatments are all approved by the Australian Pesticides & Veterinary Medicines Authority.
How often should my dog be Washed or Clipped?
The frequency of washing depends on the type of dog and your living situation. The majority of our customers are either on a weekly or a fortnightly cycle. Our cologne typically lasts well over a week so it does depend on your dog and how good you want it to smell!
How can I control the fleas on my dog?
Fleas spend most of their life living on the ground so not only do the fleas on your dog need to be eliminated but also in their environment. This means that a 3-pronged attack needs to be mounted. Firstly we will wash your dog in HydroDog flea treatment shampoo that will kill all the fleas on the dog. Secondly we can treat your dog with an ongoing monthly flea preventative such as Frontline or Advantix that will break the lifecycle of fleas. Lastly the environment your dog lives (inside and outside) in must be treated to kill the flea eggs present on the ground. We have Execute Flea Spray available for purchase from our Franchisees that will rid your house and dog bedding of fleas for up to two months. Execute is APVMA approved.Your house and dog will then be flea free and happy!
How often should my dog's nails be clipped?
All dog's nails grow at different rates depending on the dog's environment, breed and age. Nail trimming should be done regularly to avoid scratching and broken nails.
If I wash my dog weekly, will that dry out the oils in my dog's coat?
No, all HydroDog shampoos are very gentle to use on your dog weekly. Regular brushing will also ensure that your dog will be rid of excess hairs and free from knots and matts.
My dog is really scared of water and hates to be bathed, can you help?
Our franchisees regularly deal with reluctant dogs that don't want to get in the bath. In fact it is a great joy to start with a dog that is scared to have a bath and over time we train it to really love jumping in and having a good scrub. We do this by making the bath a truly pleasurable experience for your dog. Lots of warm water, pampering and talking to your dog and always at the end, a doggie treat that they come to demand after each bath!
My dog's coat has knots and matts, how can I look after her in between her baths?
Dogs need to be regularly brushed, particularly long haired dogs. Talk to our franchisee who can recommend and source for you a quality brush that will ensure that your dog is free from knots and matts. |
